This core provides protein production and purification services for bacteria, wheat germ and mammalian expressions systems (from 0.5 mg to ~100 mg depending on the system), as well as related consultation for further research and development with immune-based assays, diagnostics, drug targets and vaccines.
As a centralized service, the Protein Production Core uses its expertise to deliver the most efficient production process and quality products possible, while reducing the time, cost and effort required for individual programs to produce their own proteins for research. The facility is overseen by faculty Scientific Advisor, Dr. Peter Myler.
The facility is equipped with CellFree Sciences Protemist DTII (low- to sub-milligram level in-vitro protein expression and purification), and CellFree Protemist XE (milligram level in-vitro protein expression) instruments, CO2 incubators, multiple AKTA PrimePlus and Purifier FLPC systems as well as fermentors and other specialized equipment for purification and characterization of recombinant proteins.
Custom pricing is available based on expression systems, expression levels, protein property/solubility/stability, reagent costs related to purifications protocols, required purity levels, and development efforts of individual proteins.
